Gifts for chicken lovers! That’s right, there are people out there who are obsessed and love their chickens! Not in a gross way. In a way like one would love the family dog (don’t be a pervert). I myself am one of those people. In this post I am going to go over some fantabulous gift ideas for all those chicken obsessed peeps out there.
There are so many people out there who love their chickens. They love them like they are part of their family. I myself happen to be one of those chicken obsessed people. I mean they didn’t come up with the phrase “Crazy Chicken Lady” for nothing. Amiright!
Almost all chicken lovers will name each and every one of their chickens. And yes, they visit with them every day, along with talk to them like they are people. Obsessed is an understatement!
Below you will find a variety of different chicken related gift ideas. Several things will be useful. Some can be worn. Other items are unnecessary for sure. But trust me, no matter what it is, it will be loved, used, and appreciated.
Gifts For Chicken Lovers
1. Soft Blanket Covered In Chickens
First off, YES to blankets. Everyone ,girls especially, LOVES a good soft fuzzy blanket. Every Christmas I go to a girlie Chinese gift swap. When a soft fuzzy blanket is unwrapped, it gets very ugly. Meaning, all the ladies fight over it and it doesn’t last long before the gift is “dead”. If you don’t know that Christmas gift exchange game then go look it up. It’s so much fun. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with a blanket.
2. Books About Chickens
Books are great gifts for chicken owners. There is always something new to be learned. I know I learn something new all the time and I’m not even a newbie chicken mom. Giving a book on all things chickens would definitely be up there on the list of gifts for chicken lovers.
3. Egg Collecting Apron
Every chicken person needs something to collect their eggs in. Some have a small basket, a bowl from their kitchen, or they just use their shirt. This egg collecting apron is great. It keeps both hands completely free and the eggs don’t hit one another causing them to possibly crack. If you or someone you know can make these by hand then that’s even better. Handmade makes everything mean that much more to someone. Or not, sometimes people are just unappreciated assholes.
4. Chicken Tumblers
OMG, YES to tumblers. On a serious note I don’t know one single person that doesn’t always keep a cup of water, tea or coffee with them at all times. Tumblers are an absolute great gift. Especially when it’s personalized to that persons favorite things… Chickens! There is always room for just one more cup in that cabinet.
5. Shirts With Chickens On Them
Who doesn’t love a cute or funny t-shirt? T-shirts are awesome. One may not wear them as often as I do but they definitely get worn by all (per google: about 91% of Americans do). Whether it’s just on the weekends or worn to bed at night. Soft shirts are the best!
6. Toys Just For Your Chickens
Yes, chickens need toys. They can get bored. I promise if give a chicken person toys for their chickens they will not be disappointed. But only if this is a true chicken lover who name their chickens. If they are in it strictly for the eggs and nothing else then don’t bother. Of course if that’s the case then you shouldn’t be reading this in the first post to begin with. But these do make great gifts for chicken lovers. (just sayin)
7. Chicken Jewelry
Sport that chicken jewelry! These are so cute. Any crazy chicken lady would think so as well. Jewelry makes for a great Mother’s day gift or a Birthday gift for your mom who takes care of all her special chickies.
8. Chicken Socks
SOCKS!!! Socks are amazeballs. These are even great for men. The men who like to wear crazy colorful business socks to work. Or like my husband likes to do, wear crazy socks with his shorts, haha. My favorite socks are the ones that go past the knees and make your legs look like chicken legs. Those ones are so funny.
9. Chicken Scratch Note Pad
Every woman keeps a note pad laying around somewhere in their home or to carry with them in their purse (if there’s room in there that is). These are great to jot down little reminders or to make a quick grocery list. Note pads are so useful.
10. Chicken Pajamas
Comfy matching top/bottom pajamas are the greatest and super cute as well. I just want to point out that I have a set of the first ones (brown top with matching pants). They are by a company called Lazy One. They are so soft. You will not be disappointed in them and neither will your loved one if you get her a pair.
11. Chicken Signs
Every good chicken coop needs a cute and funny sign hanging up outside of it. They have some pretty funny ones out there. One of my favorites is the “Beware of the tiny raptors”. Did you know there are a lot of people that feel that birds are thought to be the closest living animal to the dinosaurs. I mean they do have traits of a raptor or even a T-Rex. I know… I’m an idiot, HA.
12. Chicken Kitchen Items
All of these items are so stinking cute. But I would only go this route for a gift if your person is one to display these kind of things in their kitchen. Some people are so up tight and particular when it comes to what they use and show in their kitchen. But I for one love the plates!
13. Things That Will Benefit The Chickens and The Coop
Now I’m sure you are wondering what the heck are all of the above. The first one is a saddle for hens. They go on kind of like a back pack and help protect the hens back feathers when the roosters get girl crazy in the spring.
The middle one is an automatic door for the chicken coop. You can either set a timer or control it with your phone. This beats going out every night to close the door and every morning to open it. You do this to keep predators out.
The last one is a heater for the coop during the winter months. Some like to use them and some don’t.
14. Egg Storage
Cute egg storage is a must (well, not really but they do help spruce up the place)! The amount of eggs one gets in a day can be so crazy. Cute little egg storage racks or baskets look so much better than a jar or Tupperware container or a bunch of egg cartons. I speak from experience.
15. Chicken Yard Decor
If your person is a true chicken lover then they will absolutely love these for gifts. Tacky and obnoxious, yes. But oh so great! Great gifts for chicken lovers.
16. Chicken Gadgets
Small kitchen chicken gadgets are the best. All are cute and very functional. You have your measuring cups, egg cooker and a timer. All three every chicken mom needs in their life.
17. Chicken Hat
Hats are great. Especially when there is a chicken on them. Not only do hats serve the purpose of keeping the sun out of your eyes but they are even better for hiding unwashed hair. Amiright!!
18. Chicken Tote or Crossbody Cell Bag
I may have to get myself one of each of these bags. I love that the first one can hold your cell phone and some money so that you are toting everything including the kitchen sink with you. However the middle tote is great for books or carrying toys for your little ones. Then the last is a makeup bag. All three serve a great purpose. I need them all!
19. Chicken Kitchen Towels or Dish Cloths
I honestly don’t know anyone who doesn’t keep a small kitchen towel by their sink or hanging from their stove handle. Everyone needs something to wipe their hands on after washing them or when cooking gets a little messy. No need to constantly use a paper towel, which is so wasteful by the way. Grab a cute terry cloth chicken towel for your friend or loved one. These are so cute!
20. Soft Plushie Chickens
These aren’t practical gifts but I’m not going to lie, I love and display all the ones I have collected over the years. My kids are too old now and don’t play with stuffed animals. I think they are cute.
And last but definitely not least; we move to gift idea number 21.
21. Chicken Lamp
HaHa! This is the best gift of all people. I mean who wouldn’t want a lamp of a chicken with a light bulb coming out of it’s ass!
