This breakfast casserole recipe is the ultimate breakfast for dinner meal, or what I like to call brinner. Who doesn’t like brinner?

breakfast casserole

Seriously people, who doesn’t like breakfast for dinner? I love this breakfast casserole recipe so much just because everything is loaded into one main dish.

Now, I know some people are weirdos and don’t care for all of their food items to touch nor do they like to mix everything together. If you are one of those then you might as well keep on moving. OR you can suck it up and give it a try (you aren’t 5 any more so grow up and try something new).

Brinner is even a kid friendly dinner! Or it is with mine and I swear my kids are some of the pickiest eaters on the planet. Or at least it feels that way at times.

In this post I am going to show you how to make the best breakfast casserole recipe. Easy, simple, and delicious!

Breakfast Casserole Recipe

  • 8 ct Grands Canned Biscuits
  • 1 lb Pork Sausage
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Pioneer Gravy Packet or Make your own
  • Salt and Pepper

First things first, preheat your oven to 350°.

In a medium size frying pan brown 1 lb sausage and drain grease. Once cooked all the way through set aside.

Spray a 13×9 baking dish with Pam. Greasing it up with butter is fine too. Just do something so everything doesn’t stick to the dish when it comes time to serve it up.

Cut each one of the canned biscuits into 4’s and spread evenly throughout your baking dish.

Now take your cooked sausage and spread it evenly over all of your biscuit pieces.

Next spread 1-2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese evenly across your sausage and biscuits. Just measure that shit with your heart. I for one love cheese and as you can see you can barely see anything underneath it, haha.

In a medium sized bowl whisk together 7 eggs, 1/2 cup milk, and salt and pepper to taste. Then spread this evenly all over your cheese.

Now prepare your packet of pioneer gravy as instructed on the back. I typically do 2 packs because I like a little more gravy then the one packet provides. But one will get the job done.

Sometimes I don’t even bother with the packet gravy and make my own homemade gravy. Once I can actually figure out the measurements I use to make my homemade gravy I will let you know.

I think it’s a southern thing to just eyeball everything when it comes to making homemade sausage gravy. HaHa!

Once your gravy is finished then pour it all over your casserole. This is the final step before throwing it in the oven. Yours may not look exactly like mine. Remember, I like to use extra gravy.

Your baking dish will be kinda full but not overflowing. For this reason I like to place mine on a cookie sheet just in case it decides to bubble over while baking. It usually doesn’t but it comes close.

Cook for 30-35 minutes at 350°

That’s it! You just finished making breakfast casserole. Now server it up and Enjoy!
