I am just going to be honest with you. This recipe is so delicious it will be eaten and all gone within less than 48 hours. And if you decide to take it to a family gathering, which will be a hit by the way, don’t expect to bring any leftovers back home with you. It’s that good!

Or at least that’s how it goes in our family, but we also live in South Caroline. So we were raised on this stuff. At my house, everyone fights over who will get the last little bit. I have even witnessed my kids AND husband squirrel some away in a container and then try to hide it in the back of the fridge for themselves later. I kid you not!

So needless to say this no-bake banana pudding recipe is absolutely amazeballs.

No-Bake Banana Pudding

  • Bananas
  • Nilla Wafers
  • Cool Whip (thawed)
  • Cream Cheese (room temp)
  • Vanilla Pudding (instant)
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Milk (whole)

The first thing you are going to want to do is to whip out your 9×13 baking dish. In that dish, you are going to want to line the entire bottom with one layer of Nilla Wafers.

Next, slice five to six bananas and evenly layer them across the top of your Nilla Wafers creating another layer. Set this dish aside while you work on the “guts” of the banana pudding. I used 6 bananas in the picture below.

In a medium-sized bowl add 2 cups of milk and a 5 oz box of instant vanilla pudding. If you can get your hands on the french vanilla pudding get that one instead. It’s just a little bit more flavorful. It’s hard to come by in my store so I just normally use the regular vanilla.

Back to this easy banana pudding. Whip both ingredients together until well combined. Then set it aside for a brief moment while you work on the next steps.

In a separate medium-sized bowl add an 8 oz block of cream cheese, room temperature if possible, and a 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk. Take your handheld mixer or your fancy Kitchenaide and mix both together until well combined and no longer lumpy.

Then empty the entire 8 oz container of cool whip into your mixture of cream cheese-sweetened condensed milk and gently fold it in.

After that, you will want to pour your vanilla pudding in with the cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, and cool whip, and gently stir everything together.

Once everything is well combined, pour the entire bowl over your bananas and nilla wafers and spread it out evenly.

Then take the last of your wafers and place them all over the top of your homemade banana pudding. I’m sorry mine doesn’t look like a professional made it. I didn’t want any wafers to go to waste. So I made sure I used every last one of those bastards! Sometimes I will even sprinkle the crumbs over the top.

Once your dish is assembled, place it in your fridge for anywhere between 2-4 hours. That’s when it will be the best. We have dished ourselves a bowl after about an hour and yes it’s still good just not AS good if you know what I mean. So for best results try to wait for at least the full two hours.

Here is another dessert that is an absolute favorite in our house, right underneath no-bake banana pudding. With the exception of me because chocolate is my soul mate, haha. I think you will love it as well. Especially if you too are a chocolate lover.
